Sakura-Con was scheduled to start Friday afternoon and wrap up around 6pm on Sunday. There were quite a few of us going for the entire weekend so we booked a couple of hotel rooms at the Red Lion. Christina spent last night at her parents’ because one her friends flew in from Maryland to go to the Con so they camped out there. Paige spent last night at our house because she was trying to finish up her cosplay. She was going ask Tyki Mikk from D. Gray-man. I think she worked on it until some ungodly hour of the morning and then worked on it all afternoon after she got off of school.
Heather had woken up really early this morning to work on her costume. She was going to finish it up when she got off work. Her character of choice was Misha from Pita-Ten. She and Kristen Cary had originally decided to cosplay together so Kristen was supposed to go as Shia. But we hadn’t heard from her in weeks so we didn’t know if she was even coming anymore. Christina was a part of the Pita-Ten group as well. She was going as Kotaru.
Liz and I ended up with no costumes. We both just ran out of time. I guess technically I hadn’t JUST ran out of time since I had never started. *grimace* My fabric is still in its Joanne’s bag along with the untouched pattern for a kimono. I had wanted to be Rukia from Bleach. Another idea I had was Nekozawa from Ourin High Host Club. Oh well, there’s always next year! By the time everyone had finished what they were going to finish on their cosplays, it was getting late so we headed out to Seattle.
We checked into our hotel and then had to wait FOREVER for Heather and Paige to get ready. By the time we got to the Convention Center, registration had closed for the evening! *sob* So we decided to have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was pretty cool to see the masses of people walking around downtown Seattle in cosplay. Paige was attacking everyone for pictures as we waited for our table. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and vowed to be up early the next morning as to not miss any of the Con.
